  1. I've always found this to be one of the craziest models GW has done. I relly like the green pieces you incorporatednot only on the obvious stones but also on the claws and tusks. Brings the piece togehter nicely!

    2. Hey guys - Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment! :)

I made up a mix from various sources to achieve the forest floor look on my minis.

I picked up a couple of brown flocks for the basic mix then went about scavenging different types of small woodland sticks, leaf debris, tree bark and moss / lichen from the woods near where I live.

I like to keep my eyes peeled for turquoise moss as it's a really lively colour that I find breaks up the brown nicely.

I also managed to get hold of some redwood fibres while on holiday - these are the beautiful reddy-brown lumps which I sparingly dot around.

On top of this, I also use some tiny leaf punches on dried leaves to give some distinct fallen leaf shapes.

Once I had collected all of the elements I wanted, I Put them all in a big tub along with a small amount of static grass, shook it up and hey presto; instant forest mix! :)

I also dotted several different types of static grass clumps and painted stones here and there to give a really varied look.

I highly recommend going to a forest or wooded area to just look around at the colours, textures and distribution of plants and debris. It's genuinely fascinating and helps inform a realistic miniature vignette!

      Come back soon!
